Over 50 years ago, my father with the guidance of his uncle started a tea company in Rajkot, India that shaped my love of tea for a lifetime. At 11 years old, I proudly helped my dad at his first store, where he nurtured my curiosity, passed on age-old traditions, and opened my eyes to the true art of tea. As I grew older, my father shared his dream of opening a tea shop in the United States—envisioning a welcoming place that honored the customs and values he brought from India.

Unfortunately, my family lost him before that dream came to pass.

Nearly 20 years later, from beautiful Huntington Beach, California, I have revived my dad’s aspirations. Energized by Southern California’s golden beaches, willowy palm trees and legendary surfer set, I launched Ochre Leaf—a modern online tea shop that proudly upholds the principles and traditions my father valued so much.
